‘Project Management to Run': IPMA World Congress 2008 Theme is ‘Running'
A key meeting was held in Milan on May 18, for planning the organisation of the 22nd IPMA World Congress to be held in Rome in 2008. Luigi Iperti, Chairman of the Congress Organising Committee along with his colleagues Roberto Mori, Vettese Antonio, Vittorio Cariati and Alessandro Maurizio met IPMA President Adesh Jain to
chalk out a strategic plan to make Rome2008 a historic occasion for IPMA.

Later in the evening, President of ANIMP, Maurizio Gatti hosted a dinner get-together in honour of Adesh.

The organizing committee has planned an exhaustive programme comprising parallel sessions spread over two and a half days. The venue shall be finalized shortly. The CoD shall be briefed on progress made in this endeavour at the CoD meet in Zagreb . Adesh assured the group of all possible support from the IPMA family.

So here's calling potential speakers and participants to gear up for Rome 2008!

IPMA and ICEC Join Hands to Promote PM Globally
Cementing the strategic alliance between ICEC and IPMA, the 1st ICEC and IPMA Global Congress on Project Management (5th World Congress on Cost Engineering, Project Management and Quantity Surveying) was held in Ljubljana , Slovenia between 23 and 26 April. The theme of the Congress was “Value management - How to ensure value for project stakeholders”.

In the inaugural ceremony held on April 24, a string quartet of Ljubljana
Music Academy playing classical music set the mood for the following three days. The Minister of transport of Republic Slovenia opened the congress formally with his inaugural speech.

IPMA and ICEC agreed to work together in promoting project management globally. ICEC agreed to recognize IPMA 4LC and promote project management worldwide through their national associations.
During a special meeting, Adesh Jain, President of IPMA and ICEC Chairperson Ginette Basak evolved strategies for promoting the PM profession through ICEC and IPMA members worldwide.

It marks their integration into a network of international organizations which are developing the profession of project management at a global level and it is the first and exemplary cooperation of both major world project management and cost engineering associations.
