Project Management Days is the leading event in the projects field in Finland, gathering the professionals and leading corporations. The finest experts and partners (from Finland and abroad) contribute their latest know-how into this event. The participants of Project Management Days comprise corporate and organization leaders, professionals of project business, project managers and professionals as well as decision makers of the public sector and central actors in science and the academic world. This year, Project Management Days also offers presentations in English, so that foreign participants can also attend.

The themes of Project Management Days include: Competitive advantage through project skills; Development as project professional; High-quality projects of the public administration as well as Cooperation between public administration and corporations; Major project achievements; Globalisation and international projects and Vision 2010.

Participants are offered tools for managing and succeed in the more and more intensely globalizing world. The event provides reviews of current themes both in Finland and internationally. The future project world requires e.g. more solid relations between the private and public sector than the current, when one wishes to develop skills in the projects field into globally more competitive. Project Management Days provides models, solutions and tools for a more controlled and successful project activity.

The two-day event attracted over 600 participants in the previous year, and this year the number of participants is expected to increase, and participants are also expected outside Finland.

The Scientific Advisory Board and the Business Management Advisory Board (26 business management key persons) of Project Management Days have participated in the preparation work of the event.

PROJEKT MANAGEMENT AUSTRIA
pma is rolling out the national project management award this year. The award is based on the international model of the IPMA award. Project management is gaining more and more importance. One million Austrians are working in projects according to official estimations and the number is steadily increasing. Project management knowledge is getting more relevance even amongst people who are not working directly as project managers.

Considering this fact and international developments pma has decided to come up with the national award.


In April there have been 22 assessors trained who are now ready to assess the projects handed in by May 31st . The Jury will decide on October 31st about the winner and Austria’s most excellent projects will be awarded on November 27th in Vienna.

The Austrian Project Excellence Award will boost professionalism in Austria’s project management sector and company’s will benefit from the award process and the feedback they get. Telekom Austria

who was one of the finalists in the IPMA award in 2005 said it had learned a lot during the award process and could further improve its internal project management.
